Product Care

How should I care for my jewelry?

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching, tangling, and contact between pieces.

Remove jewelry before exercising, swimming, showering, cleaning, or applying lotions, fragrances, hair products, and household chemicals.

Clean most pieces with lukewarm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

How should I care for gold, diamonds, and textured finishes?

Solid gold and diamond jewelry can usually be cleaned with mild soap, lukewarm water, and a soft brush.

Avoid toothpaste, abrasive cleaners, stiff brushes, and polishing compounds. These can scratch polished surfaces or alter brushed, satin, and hammered finishes.

If a diamond feels loose or the setting appears worn, stop wearing the piece and have it inspected.

How should I care for gemstones and enamel?

Gemstones vary in hardness and sensitivity. Softer or porous materials such as turquoise, lapis lazuli, malachite, opal, pearl, and coral should not be soaked or exposed to harsh chemicals.

Enamel can chip, crack, or scratch if struck against hard surfaces. Clean it with a soft, damp cloth and dry it immediately.

Store gemstone and enamel jewelry separately from other pieces.

Can I use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner?

Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are not suitable for every piece.

Avoid them on enamel, glued stones, treated gemstones, porous gemstones, pearls, opals, turquoise, lapis lazuli, malachite, and jewelry with delicate or loose settings.

When uncertain, use gentle hand cleaning.

When should jewelry be professionally inspected or repaired?

Have frequently worn jewelry inspected if you notice loose stones, worn prongs, bent settings, damaged clasps, cracked enamel, deep scratches, or changes in fit.

Stop wearing the piece if any stone or structural component appears loose, and contact Divadora before attempting a repair.
